Madeline Sutton is the founder and CEO of OneBrain4Health, an organization that aims to achieve health equity through community-based science and mentoring. She is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist with over 22 years of patient care experience and medical epidemiology. She is also a nationally recognized author, speaker, and consultant. Sutton is a retired veteran of the U.S. Public Health Service, having served as team lead for the Minority Health and Health Equity Research Team in the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She remains passionate about mentoring historically underrepresented, early-career scientists and clinicians. 

Sutton’s mission is simple: improve access and health outcomes for women—especially women of color. She has presented at numerous conferences and published over 160 scientific articles—and two books—on women’s health and sexual health. She recently founded the nonprofit Harlem STEM Up!, where she focuses on supporting STEM education and career opportunities for primarily Black and Latinx/Hispanic youth in Harlem, NY. Sutton maintains a faculty appointment at the Morehouse School of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also shares her medical expertise to the general public via social media and other media outlets. 

Sutton earned her bachelors in psychology and pre-med from Georgetown University, her medical and master’s degrees from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers University).  Sutton is also the recipient of the 2022 Social Justice/Public Policy Award from the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality.
